Win Fellowes AeraMax DX55 Air Purifiers

I am very pleased to to share with two of my readers the chance to win the Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifier.

I have always been concerned about my children's health, can't say I know anybody who isn't and watching my child, struggling to breathe and suffering horrific nose bleeds and feeling helpless.
For Paige, hayfever has been the bane of her life, she was even being considered for a nasal op to straighten her septum. This was in the hope of alleviating the symptoms. She and I felt it was a very severe way to deal with it, when the pollens would still be around. We felt that it was wise to to remove or reduce the cause, far better than surgery to help deal with it. For her it does not end in summer, Autumn and spring are as bad, winter gives her a short break.
Paige is not alone. The UK has one of the highest levels of allergy diagnoses worldwide, and the number of adult and child sufferers is growing each year.

Being allergic to at least one indoor airborne allergen affects 43 per cent of the population, confining them to their house or flat and inhibiting them in partaking in everyday activities like going to work. These indoor allergens include pet hair, dust mite faeces, chemical fumes and mould spores.

Mike Booth, air purification specialist at Fellowes, said: “Parents with young children already struggle to get the sleep they need and when a child is disturbed habitually by allergies, the whole family’s health can be affected.
“Listening to a child coughing or wheezing all night can be heart-breaking for parents. The AeraMax range of air purifiers could offer significant relief – and some much-needed undisturbed sleep – for both the child and the parents.”

I recently reviewed the DX55 model and was very impressed and I can highly recommend it for Paige and curiously for my own sleep, Chris snores less, it is definitely down to the AeraMax. Just having the air purifier on in a bedroom at night really aids sleep, we have all tried it in our rooms now.

  34. Answer: A. AeraMax

Our bedroom is a bit damp and chilly (it's an old terraced house) so this will help get rid of some of the moisture.

  41. My son has some compression on one of the arteries that runs across his chest, so the slightest bit of a cold/runny nose, etc sets him off coughing, sometimes so severly that he turns blue/purple and stops breathing. He is treated with inhalers (to open up his airways) when he gets bad, but he doesnt actually have asthma. We have a dehumidifier to take excess moisture from the air but would be very interested in the difference/any difference in his breathing if we had one of these.
