You may recall I recently reviewed for Devon Hampers, you can read more about my delicious experience here http://www.giventodistractingothers.co.uk/2014/04/devon-hampers-review.html
The gorgeous Cream Tea for Two Hamper was a lovely treat. Delivered quickly, I was most taken with the freshness and quality of the food, more taken with the prices and mentioned then that the hampers on the site came in at under the cost of a flower delivery!
Devon Hampers have kindly offered a more manly hamper for a lucky reader and that special Dad in your life, of course you may want to get him a pair of novelty socks still but I think a pie and a pint makes a more thoughtful gift.
Go on, show him just how grateful you are for the times gone by, when he taught you how to ride a bike, kicked a football, played with Barbie's (yes Paige's Dad did this) made the sorrows of a day disappear, tits time to give back a little thank you!
The Father's Day Indulgence Hamper (from £16.00) is designed with the man in mind, this hardy hamper features pasties and pints and even has some luxurious chocolate for a sweet finish. Great for the foodie at heart.
Includes: 2 X Chunk - Steak Pasty 260g Baked ‘Rustic Gourmet’ style pies and pasties from Ottery St Mary near Exeter using West Country ingredients. 1 X Dartmoor Brewery Jail Ale 500ml bottle. 1 X Willie's Chocolate Venezuelan Gold 80g

My Dad has endless funny stories so I am not sure which one to go for! Perhaps the one where he ate a vitamin c tablet instead of diluting it in his drink and thought he was going to pop from all the bubbles! :)

They do some really nice hampers. I like the movie night hamper.
ReplyDeleteThe story that sticks in my mind is when my Dad phoned my Mum one lunchtime from work to ask her what a 'quickie' was?
ReplyDeleteA bit taken back (as my Dad was very much a gentleman) she asked him what he meant.
He went on to explain that he was in the works canteen and a 'quickie' and salad was advertised but he didn't know what it was.
It turned out that it was talking about 'quiche'! :)
I lost my Dad recently but remembering stories like this makes me smile :)
I have entered its a lovey prize

ReplyDeleteMy dad isn't a domestic goddess. Once when my mum was working nights, he stacked the dishwasher but didn't realise washing up liquid and dishwasher detergent were different, so we spent the night trying to wade through bubbles and stop ourselves slipping on the floor! He also once bought me and my partner an anniversary card that said "daughter and her fiance on it". My partner nearly had a heart attack!
ReplyDeleteI'm entered!
ReplyDeleteMy dad can't get the hang of drive thru intercoms. He gets to one and doesn't wait for anyone to say something he just starts rambling at it. When the poor staff member asks him to repeat some of his order he gets confused and irritated and starts asking if they can hear him!
