On a Wick and a Prayer China Garden range

Scented candles not only look beautiful in your home and smell divine but can also help to calm, uplift and invigorate, and in my mind make a gorgeous gift.

When On a Wick and a Prayer asked if I would like to review one of their China Garden Ripe Fig candles I agreed. I like to have different scents depending on my mood and in the evening a candle flickering gives a cosy glow, can set a romantic mood and also remove cooking odours.

On a Wick are known as the  ‘The Candlemakers of Derbyshire’
Over the past 20 years On a Wick have steadily built a reputation for quality and innovation in design. All the products are only made in the Peak District and use only
British sourced products.
On a Wick was started by Annie Maudling, who still oversees all aspects of the business, and is still run as a family business with a dedicated team of skilled artisan candlemakers who  have all been trained by Annie personally to produce all of On a Wick’s quality products.

You may have seen the candles and other accessories in National Trust shops, I have bought them for family gifts, they are good quality, have lovely designs and the newest range called China Garden is really pretty.

The Cina Garden range is decorated with a plum blossom design its very delicate, originally used by Wedgewood and Minton. The Ripe Fig candle is a plum shade glass, there are several other colours and fragrances Oolong and Ginger, Crisp Cotton, Amberwood and reed diffusers are also available, to suit the decor of your home.

The fragrance is very enjoyable, not too fruity, very fragrant and a rich flowery exotic scent. Its a lovely slow burn as well, so I will be enjoying this for weeks.

The candle priced £7.95, I think very reasonable for a gift or just to treat yourself and I would certainly keep the glass after for tea lights, I think it will be nice on a summer evening in the garden.

  8. obviously like your web-site but you need to
take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very troublesome
to inform the reality however I will definitely come again again.
