As part of my Knorr Flavour Pot challenge I decided to use the chilli and garlic in place of fresh to make this spicy vegetable side dish.
Its so easy to make and is lovely to impress guest with if you are having a curry night!
I make a dish using green beans or cabbage called Foogath. I googled it as I have been cooking it for years with no real idea of what 'Foogath' means, and I am none the wiser, its a spicy dish using green vegetables so the kale Knorr kindly sent would hopefully work. the fresh coconut adds a lovely flavour but is entirely optional. feel free to try with any green vegetable.
Ingredients
Large bag of kale1 tbsp of sunflower oil1 large onion, peeled, halved and slicedGrated coconut (optional)1 Knorr Garlic Flavour pot 1 knorr Chilli Flavour Pot450 g cooked shredded kale2 tsp garam masala1 tsp ground cumin#1 tsp salt
Method
Melt the oil in a pan. Add the onion, garlic and chilli. Cook for 8-10 min until golden brown.
Stir the kale into the pan with the coconut (if using) garam masala, cumin and salt. Cook over a gentle heat for 5 min, until piping hot.
It goes well with the Okra and Chicken Curry recipe here.
