Ben & Jerry's All Or Nut-ting Review and giveaway!!

Bliss is sitting on the sofa with a tub of ice cream, as polled by my family and friends. My husband Chris actually dislikes ice cream, in our heady wild romantic days, I found this to be a sadness, in  that we did not share a passion for ice cream. Nowadays I am very happy as my rose tinted 'sharing is caring' days are gone when it comes to desserts and chocolates. Fudge Kitchen Easter Hamper Review

Fudge and cookies. What better way to leave Lent behind than by piling through a 

be-autifully be-ribboned Easter hamper, crammed 

with a selection of Fudge Kitchen favourites.

Fudge kitchen sent me the Cookietastic Jar and the divinely sensuous, heavenly, delicious (they are that good!)  Chocolate Indulgence Gourmet Miniatures, a box of melt in the mouth fudge, all with a chocolate theme.  

This tasty selection is part of the Easter hamper, which also contains 6 Mini Slims selections Peanut Butter, 6 Mini Slims selection Vintage Vanilla and a 230g jar of Chocolate Caramel Fudge Sauce.

Now the fudge is mine!! But I am going to be uber generous and share the cookies!! 

The box of fudge described as miniatures, but I would say a generous mouthful have some gorgeous flavours, a must is the chilli and chocolate, I have heard it is a great combination and now I know it. My favorites were the dark chocolate and sea salt and the white chocolate and raspberry.

The Cookietastic cookie mix comes in a lovely Kilner jar, which will be kept to store my lemon curd in. The cookie mix is very easy to make, just mixing an egg, butter and vanilla essence into the supplied jar contents, cooking for about 10 minutes and decorating with yummy mini eggs. 

Here are mine above, its a really unique Easter present for teens, baking enthusiasts, even for those who do not cook that often.

Chocolate lovers are in for an egg-cellent treat as Magnum, Cornetto and Mini Milk have launched chocolate Easter egg versions of their ice creams for the first time.  I was sent the trio to try and already having reviewed the bars last year, knew I was in for a treat. 

Each egg is tasty, the Magnum and Cornetto egg shells  are lovely and thick.

For Magnum lovers this is the ultimate treat, no lolly sticks just pure chocolate heaven this is a large egg and with 3 Magnum chocolates filled with vanilla Cream, this is my top pick. Made using Magnum Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa, delicately flavoured with Madagascan vanilla, its a good egg to buy this Easter

The Cornetto Egg has 6 mini Cornetto cones each in the well known wafer, filed with a whipped creamy chocolate centre. Topped with hazelnut  and chocolate pieces.

There is no ice cream involved, so freezing isn’t required. The only thing melting will be your friends’ and loved ones’ taste buds as they enjoy the irresistibly smooth chocolate in all three gift packs.

Mini Milk Easter Eggs is great little treat for big or little kids, I love the box shaped like an ice cream van, the egg is smaller in this box, but you are rewarded with chocolate Mini Milk lollies which taste like the ice cream version.

The Mini Milk chocolate lollies each have 30% of the RDA of calcium, and are 94 calories. Each lolly has a whipped centre, encased in a smooth shell and really melt in the mouth.

Gallo Family Vineyards for Mother's Day

I was asked by Gallo Family Vineyards if I wanted to try a bottle of their wine perfect for Mothers Day.

I chose the Summer White, the weather has picked up a little and it will soon be time to have a glass of light wine in the garden. I am hoping Mother's Day stays fine, we will be at home and a nice roast dinner is on the cards, my husband and children will be cooking, while Granny and I pop our feet up in the garden and have a tipple, us Mums have worked hard and deserve a treat.

I obviously tried the wine now, for the purpose of the review and not because I so needed a glass of wine, wink, wink. I found it to be incredibly fruity, light as described, a real taste of pear for me. To further add to the appeal, its low in alcohol only 5.5 %  and a cute 75 calories per 125 ml  for those watching the curves. 

I had a glass or two with last nights Creamy Turkey and Leek Filo Topped Pie. If you like a sweet wine this is it!

Chicken Parmagiana

Newman's Own is launching its original range of delicious, all natural Pasta Sauces in the UK.  Available from Waitrose, the range of Pasta Sauces offer something for all the family,  and are perfect for a wide range of pasta dishes. 

I was delighted to have the chance to try them out, I love cooking from scratch as you know, but its lovely to have a good store cupboard stock of jars of sauces, for those days when I am shattered. Yet I still can make a good recipe and bypass all the chopping and slaving.

Free from artificial colours and flavours, makes me happy, the ingredients all are normal foods you expect in a sauce. 

Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs is another benefit.

Founded by Hollywood actor Paul Newman, Newman’s Own already has a popular range of salad dressings, BBQ sauces and marinades available. 

I decided to try the Sockarooni sauce, Paul's own recipe, full of tomatoes, red and green peppers I just love the name, I made a Chicken Parmagiana style dish. Quick and easy to prepare with a jar.

Ingredients

4 Chicken breasts

1 jar of Sockarooni sauce

75 grams of fresh breadcrumbs I used white as the brown was a bit too fresh.

75 grams Parmesan cheese.

Easy easy method

Preheat the oven to 200°C/Gas Mark 6/180°C fan oven. 

Place the chicken into an ovenproof dish.

Pour over the sauce.

Mix together the cheese and the breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the chicken.

Bake in the oven for 30- 35 minutes.

I served with a crisp salad.

The sauce was fresh tasting and I really loved the depth of the flavour. I will happily use again.
