Lenor Forever Fashion

Do you have that special item in your wardrobe that you love but never wear for fear of it looking worn out?

I do I have a sunflower sweatshirt, its now three years old. Chris bought it for me, my favourite flowers are sunflowers, they are around for so short a time, so he bought me the top for our anniversary trip in Cornwall as he cannot always get the flowers. It reminds me of our gorgeous sunny days there, the top is great to slip over shorts when watching the sun set over the sea. I have worn it only for days to the beach since as I want to preserve it. I put it in the machine on a hand wash and it dries indoors to prevent fading.

If this sounds like you, you are not alone. Lenor has found that 34% of us limit the amount of times we wear a favourite item for fear of it showing signs of ageing, like bobbling and loss of softness.  1 in 10 people even compare the stress of losing their most loved pieces to having a row with their partner.

I can already vouch for Lenor and its new formula,   designed to help extend the longevity of your wardrobe by helping to protect clothes from the number 1 cause of fabric damage, repeated washing.

I have been using a while now before being asked to blog about it in fact. It has revived my towels recently and they are softer than my newest bale.  So I will risk my precious top and hopefully give it a few more years being worn not a few more years in storage.

Wearing our favourite outfits can make us look and feel amazing, giving a confidence boost we should enjoy every day. To encourage this, Lenor has created the ‘Forever Fashion’ campaign, spreading the word that it is possible to live in the clothes we love.

Lenor ambassador and stylist Brix Smith-Start, gives her top tips on how to make the most of a wardrobe and those key items that can be re-worn every season:

1)    My number one styling tip of all time is to invest in a capsule wardrobe with timeless classics that you love! As a nation we tend to supplement our outfits with low cost pieces and leave our favourite items hanging in the wardrobe.  As long as you help to protect your clothes with a conditioning fabric softener like Lenor there is no reason why you can’t enjoy wearing them every day.

2)    Transforming your look from desk to dance floor doesn’t have to involve a whole outfit change.  Simply swap flats for a pair of heels and accessorise, a statement pair of earrings or necklace will do the trick. Feel free to add bangles and rings but don’t go overboard! Less is always more!  Finally, apply a swish of bright lipstick for an instant glamorous touch.

3)    Wear your favourite clothes more often! Many of us save our best clothes for special occasions but if there is a particular item that makes you feel fabulous then it’s worth wearing more often than not! A classic piece that you love can always be updated with accessories; think hats or block colour tights for winter and bright jewellery or handbags for summer.

  1. I can't even remember which fabric softener I use. It's pink! (So good at house hold chores!) I have some tops that are old and I refuse to throw out, for various reasons. I will have to keep an eye for this next time I go shopping and give it a go!

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I love the fashion tips, and I also love what I call the smell of 'clean' above anything else. If I had to choose between I man that smelled of expensive aftershave, and one that smelled of lenor, I would pic the second any day of the week. Great post, thank you.

  12. I regularly use fabric conditioner, as I love soft clothing and towels etc. As well as nice fresh scent from the washing. I am fond of lenor. Though have yet to try forever fashion. I believe it is often woolen which can age by going 'bobbly'. As so far I have always been luckier with other fabrics.

  14. Gosh, I've never used fabric softener, ever, and we even have hard water here. I am definitely going to give it a go, perhaps with this Lenor Forever Fashion one.
